When it comes to online relationships, you can make them anything you want. You can make them as casual or as serious as you want. For some people, the whole attraction to online relationships is that they have someone without having to stretch themselves too thin. They can carry on a normal life and still have someone there for them to talk to. It's like having your cake and eating it too. You have a life without someone nagging you, but you have that someone there for you when you get home. What a deal! A relationship and a life.

"I've never tried online relationships, but all of my friends have. They swear by them. They always tell me I need to meet a decent person online. But to me, that seems like a contradiction. What about all the perverts out there, how can you trust anyone? These are complete strangers. But I tried it and I actually had fun. I met a few people online that I talk to. I wouldn't say I'm dating anyone, but there is this one person I meet everyday online and talk to for hours. We have a great time and the conversation never gets dull. Or, they could even start by someone intentionally looking for someone to talk to who fits certain criteria. However they start you can keep them going and make them into whatever you desire. You can make it as casual as you want it, or make it into something totally serious. That's the best thing. You control it.
