Long Distance Relationship
One of the most frequently asked questions that come up in the world of relationships is if you should go ahead with a long distance relationship or if it is simply not worth the effort. A long distance relationship can be a very difficult thing to try and maintain, and if we are being honest most long distance relationships fail after a time. But, if there is a solid foundation to your relationship, then there is no reason not to give a long distance relationship the old college try.
Talk a lot about your long distance relationship
The first and most important thing to do when considering whether or not to keep our relationship if one of you is moving away is to make sure that both of you are totally committed to the idea of the long distance relationship. It will not be easy being alone most of the time, especially after having been in the company of the other person for a long time. You will both have to make sacrifices that will sometimes hurt and that either one of you may be resentful about at certain points. There has to be some rules that are set forth from the beginning as you attempt to find the right balance for this new change in your relationship.
If one of you is on the fence about whether or not the whole thing is a good idea, then you need to get past that before the big move. It is best to make the decision before the move takes place so that no one is left wondering about the state of mind of the other. And if one person is more committed to the making the long distance things work, then the other will only end up getting hurt. There is a lot of temptation out there as it is and when you do not see your partner for extended periods of time and they are far away, those temptations will surely become all the more intense. You both need to talk openly about all of the concerns that you have and how best you can avoid all of he pitfalls that come with the prospect of a long distance relationship.
