Country Love Songs
Whether we love them or we hate them, we all know a few country love songs and can probably sing a few of the lines. From Willie Nelson to Garth Brooks, country love songs have all helped leave an imprint on our American culture. Sure, we can hate the genre that is country, but we can't help the fact that it has become a huge part of who we are and have defined a few generations. Country love songs, it seems, are not just for good ole boys anymore. They have seeped out into the public at large and are no longer completely shunned by those outside of the cowboy life.
Country love songs at large
One thing that has definitely helped country love songs get a stronger footing in this country is that the singers are not as twangy as they once were and the lyrics and music are not quite as foreign to many people's ears as they once were. One upon a time all country music was relegated tot he south and to the west. It combined music, words, and stories that many other people simply could not relate to. Much of the music could only really be appreciated and understood by those who lived it. Now it has become much more mainstream, with all kinds of musical lines being crossed. Some of the country love songs sound far from what many of us would label as country. All kinds of music is coming together and it getting more difficult to tell one type of music from another. As many artists' inspiration comes from different avenues, so their music represents a coming together, a fusion, of various genres.
Country music had, in many circles, a kind of a stigma for many years. It was considered unsophisticated or too simplistic. It had even gained a reputation for having the same themes sung over and over again. Now, at music awards shows, you can't tell the rockers from the country singers. Not that there are no longer the cowboys that there once were, it is just becoming much more glamorous and many people have traded in their country gear for more hip and trendy designs. Although many critics blame many new country singers for diluting the genre of country music - it is he artist's prerogative to stretch boundaries and create things anew.
