Virtual Dating
You can almost never go wrong when it comes to virtual dating. The way the world is now with everyone's schedule, it seems like it's the only way to meet people. Besides, there are many benefits to finding someone online. You can have that level of comfort that you normally won't have in person. And you can feel free to take it as fast or as slow as you want. There is practically no pressure when it comes to virtual dating. And you can "date" more than just one person while figuring who's the best match, but it's all done safely. Here are some pros and cons of virtual dating.
Pros of Virtual Dating
First of all, there's no awkwardness. You're not meeting someone face to face, wondering how you look, but at the same time wondering if this person is crazy. You can concentrate on talking and getting to know a person. There are no distractions at all (minus the ones in your own home).
Second, you can be yourself. Your don't have to worry about impressing online. Looks are thrown out the window, unless you send a picture or decide to chat via web cam. But even then, you can choose the picture you send or shut off the camera if it gets too awkward.
And, of course, you're free to "date" as many people online until you find the right one. This eliminates going on numerous bad dates. If you talk to someone long enough, you can figure out just what type of person they are. The same goes with online. If someone is a liar it will be revealed shortly.
Cons of Virtual Dating
Maybe you want to go out on dates, and with virtual dating you can't really do anything, unless you hook up a date in person. No one to take you out.
You may meet the perfect person...but they are miles and miles away, maybe even as far as another country.
And, of course, the other person is free to date as many people online as well, and may decide that you aren't the one for them.
You have to figure out if the pros outweigh the cons in virtual dating. It can be useful and fun, but ultimately the decision is yours.
